Yesterdays borescope inspections of Endeavour's three main engine turbo pumps
concluded they are well within specifications and technicians at the Kennedy
Space Center are now proceeding with operations to launch Endeavour's STS-59
mission on Friday, April 8 at 8:06 a.m. EDT.
The countdown schedule still includes the option to launch Endeavour as much as
an hour earlier. This option will be implemented the day before launch if
mission managers concluded the weather may not be acceptable for a later
launch.
The STS-59 mission will feature the first of two planned flights of the Space
Radar Laboratory scheduled this year. Mission duration is slated for 9 days
with a landing at the Kennedy Space Center.
